NOTABLE RECOGNITIONS
Joan Llaneza, MPA ’23 recieved the 2024 UNC Charlotte Outstanding Master’s Award for Best Capstone Paper.
Laura Antanaitis, MPA ’21 received the Robert L. Kline award for the Best Student MPA paper at the Southeastern Conference on Public Administration for her paper entitled “Equity in Family and Medical Leave: A Response to COVID-19.” The paper was also presented in the panel Paying Attention to Group Outcomes From Policy.
Shannon Reidlinger, MPA ’18 received the Robert L. Kline Award for the Best Masters Student Paper. Her paper was entitled, “Leveraging the Graduate Degree: Employment Outcomes for Female Students of NASPAA Institutions.”
Under the direction of Dr. Jim Douglas and Doug Bean, thirteen MPA students presented their group Capstone project to staff at the Centralina Council of Governments on December 8. The report is entitled, ‘The Centralina Council of Governments Community Economic Development Resource Report and Guide.”
Marc Botero, graduate of the MPA Program, has committed to serve in the Peace Corps as Literacy Instructor and Facilitator in Vanuatu. Marc graduated in December of 2016. Marc promises to keep careful notes on his experiences and will prepare an exhibit for a future Alumni-Student Conference!
